Meat Department Operations Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Operations Manager to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our store leadership, you will be responsible for leading the meat department team in achieving sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals.
Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership: Develop and maintain high-performing teams by recruiting, training, and developing team members; providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to drive results and growth.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Team Leader to manage inventory levels, ensure accurate ordering, and minimize waste and shrinkage.
- Customer Service: Foster an exceptional customer experience by ensuring prompt and courteous service, addressing customer concerns, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Sales and Profitability: Work closely with the Team Leader to achieve sales and profitability targets, analyze sales trends, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Store Standards: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented meat department that meets or exceeds store standards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with the team, other departments, and external partners to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues promptly.
About You:
- Leadership Experience: At least 18 months of retail experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat department or similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and operations-related applications; strong mathematical skills for assessing financial performance and managing inventory.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, motivational, team-building, and customer relationship skills, with a focus on building strong relationships and driving results through effective collaboration.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours, and work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to temperatures, humidity, and cleaning chemicals.
