Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated On-Call Banquet Servers to join our team. As a Banquet Server, you will help set up and prepare the banquet room for functions, serve food and bus tables, and clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function. This is an ON-CALL position that requires availability on any day of the week, including Saturday and Sundays.

Responsibilities
  • Set up for event functions, including draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and putting out table centerpieces.
  • Service includes picking up food from the back hall, carrying trays to the function location, serving food, and clearing the food from the tables.
  • Break down includes bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, and vacuuming.
  • Perform food and beverage preparation duties, such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and ensuring workstations are stocked.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods, and ingredients.
  • Ensure final quality check on food and beverage items prior to and while serving guests.
  • Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service.
  • Take into consideration and forward information to Banquet captains of any special requests and dietary issues made by the guests.
  • Maintain constant awareness of safety issues, such as broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons.
Requirements
  • Must have TABC and Food Handler certifications.
  • Able to communicate in the English language sufficient to understand job requests from supervisors, as well as understand menus, record orders/requests, and communicate with guests to explain orders.
  • Work well in stressful, high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency.
  • Standing and extensive walking, up to the entire shift, with frequent bending, squatting, and side-to-side movement.
  • Able to extend arms; frequent bending and stooping and ability to carry and/or lift trays up to 20 lbs.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Prior customer service, hospitality, and/or server experience preferred.
