Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wealth Management Director to join our team at Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our wealth management team, you will be responsible for providing advisory-based sales and relationship management to attract, retain and grow a portfolio of prospect and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the business development strategy, sales targets and the sales results for the assigned region.
  • Develop internal and external networks and referral sources to grow business in the assigned portfolio/jurisdiction.
  • Enhance presence in the marketplace by collaborating with other experts to create an integrated business development plan.
  • Act as the primary Relationship Manager for assigned client relationships.
  • Lead/assist with creation of business proposals or presentations.
  • Produce client reports that demonstrate the value provided and assess clients at-risk for retention.
  • Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
  • Proactively identify client needs and concerns to diagnose and facilitate resolution of client issues.
  • Introduce subject matter experts to the client.
  • Share wealth solutions expertise and product knowledge across regional team.
  • Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
  • Recommend business priorities, advise on resource requirements and develop roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Act as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between stakeholders.
  • Bridge banking, trust and investment disciplines together for client communications when the full relationship exists.
  • Break down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor and track performance, and addresses any issues.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.

Requirements:

Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

MBA certification preferred.

Experience dealing with HNW clients and equivalent knowledge base.

Certified Financial Planner is preferred.

Broad knowledge of all facets of wealth management.

In-depth/expert knowledge of Bank products, services and capabilities.

Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth/Expert.

Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth/Expert.

Influence skills - In-depth/Expert.

Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth/Expert.

Able to manage ambiguity.
