Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care equipment, supplies, and other essential items across our campus.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and retrieve a variety of equipment, supplies, and other items to patient care areas in support of patient care.
  • Maintain designated storage areas for equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Work with maintenance to ensure broken equipment is repaired and functioning properly.
  • Transport specimens from patient divisions to clinical laboratories and operate the tube system to ensure proper movement of patient specimens or information.
  • Utilize department information systems to track, respond to, and maintain records regarding customer requests.
  • Perform other department duties as required to meet the needs of the department.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a high school graduate or GED.
  • One year hospital supply operations or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customer departments and supervisor.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow specific written and verbal instructions and procedures.
  • Basic math skills and basic level computer skills to operate a PC in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to operate a variety of materials handling equipment.
Working Conditions

The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals.

Additional Information

Strong knowledge of an inventory supply system is required. The employee must be accountable to accomplish all work in their assigned area on a daily basis. Requires math and reasoning skills, strong teamwork skills, and lifting of supplies up to 50 lbs. and the pushing of heavy carts loaded with supplies.
