About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lead Environmental Engineer to join our team in Rancho Cordova, California. As a key member of our environmental consulting services team, you will plan, direct, and oversee environmental consulting services in support of public and private clientele.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, oversee, and mentor engineers performing technical assignments on engineering projects/programs.
  • Develop and direct teams performing civil/remedial engineering at complex sites, including former mining facilities.
  • Provide technical review/oversight/mentoring of environmental engineering teams to ensure compliance with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Oversee development and execution of engineering teams performing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Plan and direct business development and marketing strategies/activities to capture new clients for WSP USA.
  • Guide and oversee proposal teams that are developing and completing large-scale proposals.
  • Develop and guide civil/environmental engineering and remediation teams to ensure high-quality products that meet company financial goals.
  • Mentor civil/environmental staff to identify engineering discrepancies and guide them to successful resolution.
  • Responsible for performing engineering review and guidance to staff who are developing/completing technical calculations and reports.
  • Represent WSP USA and interact in a professional manner with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 10 or more years of experience working as an engineer.
  • PE (California) required.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team and achieve team objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Project management experience/training.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR).
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with federal CERCLA (Superfund) regulations and processes, especially with environmental feasibility studies and remediation.
