Fishkill, New York, United States Marvell Semiconductor Full time

About Marvell Semiconductor

Marvell Semiconductor is at the forefront of developing semiconductor solutions that serve as the foundational elements of the data infrastructure connecting our global community. Our innovative technologies span across various sectors including enterprise, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, automotive, and telecommunications, enabling unprecedented opportunities.

At Marvell, you have the chance to influence individual lives, elevate entire industries, and harness the transformative potential of the future. For those eager to contribute to meaningful and lasting innovation, Marvell is the ideal environment to grow, learn, and lead.

Your Role and Contribution

As a Senior Staff Engineer specializing in Hardware Design, you will be an integral part of the Central Engineering division. Visualize Marvell as a wheel; Central Engineering acts as the central hub, supplying intellectual property (IP) utilized by various sectors such as Automotive, Storage, Security, and Networking. You will join the team responsible for managing third-party IP.

In this dynamic and challenging position, you will collaborate closely with a team of engineers focused on integrating subcontracted IP into the Marvell ecosystem. Your responsibilities will encompass assisting in the delivery of memory interface cores such as DDR, LPDDR, GDDR, HBM, and eMMC to our clients. You will engage in all phases of System on Chip (SoC) development, which includes defining core specifications, validating the capabilities of IP developers, overseeing core development, ensuring technology compliance, integrating cores, and conducting test compliance and silicon validation.

Your role will also involve supporting sales efforts by collaborating with leading IP providers to fulfill customer needs. You will oversee third-party developers in finalizing core designs and establishing necessary design protocols. Additionally, you will provide guidance to the Marvell design center regarding core integration into custom silicon designs and facilitate joint reviews with both the design center and third-party IP providers. Some travel may be required for post-silicon validation at customer locations.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of DDR interfaces (DDR, LPDDR, GDDR, HBM, eMMC), including challenges related to SoC PHY integration, timing analysis, packaging, and multi-chip integration.
  • Experience in project management tasks essential for overseeing third-party developers.
  • Comprehensive exposure to ASIC design processes necessary for chip fabrication, including logic synthesis, physical design, timing analysis, DRC/LVS, formal verification, and electrical checks.
  • Solid understanding of Design-For-Test (DFT) principles, including logic insertion, test generation, scan, and embedded core testing.
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base pay range for this position is $121,500 per annum. The starting salary will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. This range may be adjusted based on market trends.

Marvell offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes base salary, bonuses, and equity. Our benefits encompass health and financial wellness, flexible time off, a 401k plan, year-end shutdowns, floating holidays, and paid volunteer time. This role is eligible for a hybrid work model, allowing a blend of remote and on-site work.

Marvell is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.
