Patient Accounts Customer Service Representative

Overview: CAMC Health System is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Patient Accounts Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for the effective follow-up and collection of high-dollar, delinquent, and problem account receivable claims by resolving patient inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
Responsibilities:
• Follow up on accounts having received one or more unanswered statements, ensuring timely communication with patients and guarantors.
• Obtain necessary information from guarantors/insurance companies to obtain reimbursement, utilizing negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Research accounts to obtain resolution, utilizing internal resources and minimizing support from the Customer Service Team Lead or Supervisor.
• Review accounts to determine if they meet charity guidelines, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
• Receive incoming calls and mail that are within the assigned area of responsibility, addressing patient concerns and resolving issues.
• Make adjustments on accounts as needed, correcting posted transactions and ensuring accurate records.
• Perform Cerner SME duties as needed, staying up-to-date with system updates and best practices.
• Assist with training of new PA Customer Service Representatives, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure successful onboarding.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 0 years of experience in a similar role
