Health and Wellness Customer Service Representative

PRIMARY ROLE:

The Customer Service Representative is tasked with managing the daily operations of the Reception Desk while ensuring exceptional service delivery to HealthPoint members. A comprehensive understanding of departmental functions is essential to effectively assist members. This role involves performing various computer-related tasks throughout the shift, alongside handling all incoming calls for the Health and Wellness Department. Additionally, representatives may be required to maintain and clean fitness equipment. With appropriate certification, they may also provide guidance in Group Exercise Classes and general fitness advice to members.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Health and Wellness

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or at least 16 years old and actively pursuing a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS/AED Certification from an accredited organization.
  • No documented disciplinary actions within the past year.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in instructing fitness classes.
  • Certification as a Fitness Professional from ACSM or a similar organization.
  • Adheres to ADA Essential Functions.
  • Complies with Established Service Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage reception, registration, and payment processing for Health and Wellness members.
  • Build rapport and communicate effectively with members, demonstrating empathy and a readiness to assist.
  • Stay well-informed about departmental matters to answer inquiries or direct members to appropriate staff.
  • Exhibit excellent telephone manners, providing accommodating and helpful responses to callers.
  • Perform computer-related tasks competently, including member tracking software operations, scheduling via Microsoft Outlook, and data entry assignments.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding member services.
  • Participate in and support various member service events throughout the year.
  • Provide general supervision for clients using the facility, ensuring a commitment to service excellence.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the facility and aquatic areas.
  • Help maintain and test pool chemical levels, conduct maintenance procedures, and track supply usage.
  • If certified, provide effective instruction for group classes, catering to all ability levels.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by maintaining certifications and attending educational seminars.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations courteously.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Accept constructive feedback and adapt performance accordingly.
  • Lead by example in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach by embracing a team-oriented mindset and striving to exceed expectations.
  • Perform additional operational duties as needed to support the Health and Wellness Department.
