We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Polk County, WI. As a key member of our Public Health Department, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the health and well-being of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and enforce environmental health regulations to ensure compliance with state and local laws.
- Investigate complaints and conduct follow-up visits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Provide education and outreach to the public on environmental health issues and the importance of proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Possession of a valid Wisconsin Registered Sanitarian (RS) or NEHA REHS/Registered Sanitarian (RS) certification.
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make sound judgments.
