We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Operate laboratory computer systems to document specimen information and patient registration.
- Interact with patients, family members, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent customer service.
- Meet expectations of applicable CHRISTUS Health competencies, including Leader of Self, Leader of Others, and Leader of Leaders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and infection control.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including stand-by/on-call, inventory, and special projects.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; diploma or transcript required at time of hire.
- Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, computer data entry, and organizational skills.
- One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Certification from a National Accredited Program preferred.
PRN (Per Diem As Needed) schedule.
