Job Title: Phlebotomy Training Specialist

Job Summary:

This position requires a phlebotomist with strong instructional design skills, clear communication skills, and a history of successful venipuncture and customer service training of phlebotomists. The ideal candidate should also have strong organizational and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform AIDET assessments routinely to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Work closely with the phlebotomy supervisor/manager to retrain staff when deficiencies are noted.
  • Maintain accurate training records and competency records.
  • Act as a phlebotomist when staffing concerns arise.
  • Perform ongoing competency testing with all phlebotomists.
  • Train all new hires in phlebotomy and point of care testing.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting is required.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program is required.
  • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is required.
  • ASCP Phlebotomy Certification is preferred.
