Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties
The following tasks are representative and not exhaustive:
- Manage library circulation tasks
- Check in and check out materials
- Process holds on items
- Register new patrons
- Handle financial transactions using a cash register
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Assist patrons in locating materials and information, including using online catalogs
- Process interlibrary loan requests
- Receive and organize large shipments of books
- Support routine database upkeep and prepare materials for circulation
- Conduct general clerical duties such as
- Filing
- Billing
- Word processing
- Record keeping
- Perform receptionist tasks
- Answer phone calls
- Make announcements
- Re-shelve materials and maintain orderliness
- May train and assign tasks to volunteers
