Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Installation and Repair Specialist to join our team at Great Day Improvements: A Family of Brands. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and repairing windows and doors in residential homes and businesses.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires excellent technical and mechanical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for measuring, installing, and testing products, providing customers with instructions on proper usage, and performing routine maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting routine inspections and providing accurate measurements of doors and windows
  • Providing timely and quality repairs of customers' products, including screen installation, sash replacement, glass replacement, hardware replacement, and seal repairs
  • Providing accurate measurements of doors and windows
  • Coordinating required return visits and conveying needed services, materials, and labor
  • Performing post-installation inspections
  • Anticipating obstacles that could impact customer expectations, job costs, and/or code performance and recommending solutions
  • Promoting company services
  • Maintaining technical and mechanical skills
Qualifications
  • An Associate degree or technical certification in the industry
  • Previous experience servicing windows and doors
  • Previous experience in exterior replacement products
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record acceptable to insurance company
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Managing overtime on service calls with patience and not rushing the job
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to diagnose and solve problems based on customers' non-technical descriptions
  • Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry
  • Physical fitness to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and bend frequently
  • Travel within radius of UWD's locations
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This estimate is based on industry standards and takes into account the level of skill and expertise required for the role.
