Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting independence, choice, and control in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

">

The Residential Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • ">
  • Providing direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, including assistance with daily living tasks, adaptive skills, and physical transfers;">
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment, adhering to universal safety precautions and protocols;">
  • Assisting individuals with meal preparation, household tasks, and personal care activities;">
  • Supporting individuals in their communication and involvement with families and friends;">
  • Empowering individuals to participate in community activities and promote their integration into the community;">
  • Documenting progress and maintaining accurate records of individual's participation and progress towards outcomes;">

Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess:

">
  • ">
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities;">
  • A high school diploma or equivalent;">
  • A valid driver's license;">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;">
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional late afternoons;">
  • Familiarity with Chapter 6100 Regulations and state laws pertaining to aging and related services;">

Benefits

">

We offer a competitive salary range of $42,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, sick pay, bereavement pay, and retirement plan.

Working Conditions

">

This role requires frequent travel to various locations within the community, transporting individuals in your own vehicle (if applicable), and working in residential settings. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling.
