Position Overview
Accountable for delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a remarkable "Judgement Free" experience.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Club Manager and Assistant Club Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Front Desk Operations
- Welcome members and guests, providing outstanding customer service to create a comfortable environment.
- Answer phone calls in a courteous manner and assist callers with various inquiries.
- Check in members, conduct tours, enroll new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events.
- Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
- Promote our unique fitness instruction classes to keep workouts engaging for both active and new members.
- Follow policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Exceed daily performance metrics.
- Assist in emergency medical situations as trained.
- Enforce facility rules and policies.
- Provide support for absent employees.
- Maintain the integrity and security of sensitive company documents.
- Lead by example and ensure accountability.
- Communicate relevant changes or information to staff members.
- Utilize the POS system for new membership cards, address changes, and billing inquiries.
- Check members into fitness classes daily using the Datatrak system.
- Create new memberships and guest accounts.
- Ensure the security and integrity of member documents and sensitive information.
- Keep the front desk and lobby area clean and organized.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
- Sanitize all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms and wet areas, ensuring they are stocked.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
- Conduct walkthroughs of the club every 20 minutes.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators such as guest counts, cancellations, and information calls.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Foster a positive, energetic, and welcoming culture at Planet Fitness.
- Act as a brand ambassador by promoting a judgement-free lifestyle.
- Stay informed about marketing initiatives, including enrollment rates.
- Friendly and positive attitude.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Basic computer skills with attention to detail.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Exceptional customer service abilities; capable of interacting positively and professionally with members and colleagues, exceeding expectations.
- Strong leadership and diplomatic skills.
- Problem-solving capabilities.
- Embody the core values of Planet Fitness, including teamwork, positivity, integrity, passion, and accountability.
- Engage in continuous activity throughout the shift.
- Regularly communicate with members in person or over the phone.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shifts.
- Regular cleaning of equipment and facilities.
