Job Title: Towboat Captain

Job Summary:

Holliday Sand & Gravel Company, LLC is seeking a skilled Towboat Captain to join our team. As a Towboat Captain, you will be responsible for navigating our vessels safely and efficiently, ensuring the transportation of materials and equipment to our various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Navigate vessels through various waterways, ensuring safe operation and adherence to US Coast Guard regulations.
• Load and transport assorted pieces of equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Steer tow boats, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of cargo.
• Perform fire drills and maintain safety equipment.
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure the safety of all crew members.
• Properly and safely fender, moor, and/or anchor boats/barge.
• Consult maps, charts, weather reports, and navigation equipment to determine and direct work boats/barge movements.
• Give direction to crew members and maintain required logs.
• Outfit and maintain proper safety equipment and inspect towing vessels.
• Direct maintenance on the vessel as needed and respond to emergency situations.
• Coordinate crew changes and fueling procedures.

Requirements:

• Master of Towing license from USCG, with licensing areas covering _______
• ______ Ton license with TOAR Endorsement
• Radar Observer Endorsement
• Ability to operate general hand tools and read, write, understand warning labels, instructions, signs, and pay attention to details.
• Good communication skills required.
• Willingness to work throughout full area Company operates on either day or night shifts, with required overtime and weekend work.
• Work requires sitting and ability to climb stairs.
