Towboat Captain

Job Summary

Holliday Sand & Gravel Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Towboat Captain to join our team. As a key member of our marine operations team, you will be responsible for navigating our vessels safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Navigate vessels through various waterways, ensuring safe operation and compliance with US Coast Guard regulations.
• Load and transport equipment, supplies, and materials to various locations.
• Steer tow boats and ensure safe towing operations.
• Perform regular safety checks and maintain accurate logs.
• Collaborate with crew members to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that may arise.
• Respond to emergency situations and take necessary actions to ensure the safety of crew and passengers.
• Perform routine maintenance on vessels and equipment.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Master of Towing license from the USCG, with licensing areas covering _______.
• ______ Ton license with TOAR Endorsement.
• Radar Observer Endorsement.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, and signs.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.

Working Conditions

Job hazards include exposure to noise. Work requires walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting objects that occasionally weigh up to 75 pounds unassisted and over 75 pounds with help. Ability to climb stairs while carrying up to 50 pounds.
