Position Overview:
The Coordinator of Student Support & Commuter Programs plays a vital role in fostering a supportive environment for all university students facing personal challenges that may hinder their academic and social success. This position is dedicated to outreach and providing follow-up assistance to students in crisis, ensuring their well-being and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement follow-up strategies for students of concern, collaborating with campus partners to address reported issues.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information, overseeing the creation and tracking of student cases, including updating records and closing cases as necessary.
  • Act as an advisor for the Cornerstone Program, specifically for first-generation college students, which includes organizing and executing four meetings each semester, monitoring attendance, and facilitating communication.
  • Oversee services and programs tailored for commuter students, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Serve as a student conduct administrator, responsible for reviewing, investigating, and adjudicating student conduct cases.
  • Assist as an advisor for the Student Conduct Board, which includes scheduling hearings, notifying involved parties, reviewing sanction submissions, and managing cases within the administrative system.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in administrative tasks and crisis management, with strong advising capabilities and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to engage with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations concerning student conduct, including FERPA, Title IX, VAWA, HIPAA, ADA, and the Clery Act.
  • A proven track record of positive student engagement, characterized by high energy, patience, and sensitivity to the academic and personal needs of college students.
  • A Master's degree in counseling, social work, higher education administration, college student personnel, or a related field is preferred.
