Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Sterilize equipment and instruments, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Stock adequate supplies for surgery, ensuring that all necessary materials are readily available.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites, providing a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff.
  • Track surgical supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are accounted for and restocked as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures, maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise.
  • Work well with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and other members of the surgical team, providing exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
  • Help provide great patient care, ensuring that all patients receive the highest level of attention and respect.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of Certified Surgical Tech experience
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Certified Surgical Tech program
  • Active unencumbered Surgical Tech Indiana state license
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks
