Role Summary
The Youth Advocacy Specialist position entails overseeing a group of transitional-aged youth within a supportive housing initiative. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of service frameworks, including trauma-informed methodologies and positive youth development strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management
- Develop personalized case strategies aligned with each youth's aspirations and requirements.
- Deliver comprehensive case management, eliminate obstacles, and connect youth with vital community resources.
- Build trust and maintain ongoing engagement with clients.
- Facilitate weekly sessions to assist youth in achieving stable housing solutions.
- Track and assess progress towards established objectives and outcomes.
Documentation and Administrative Tasks
- Fulfill data entry and documentation obligations.
- Record all service interactions using designated systems.
- Participate in mandatory training sessions to enhance knowledge pertinent to the target population.
General Duties
- Adhere to and promote the organization's core values.
- Support a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach.
- Analyze data to refine and enhance client services.
Essential Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in case management is required.
- Experience working with high-risk youth or those facing homelessness is preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is required.
Desirable Qualifications
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Spanish is preferred.
