Position Summary

The Facilities Operations Senior Manager is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of the Facilities department, ensuring that all facilities and associated equipment are maintained, validated, and operational to meet the demands of a dynamic manufacturing, laboratory, and office environment. This role involves directing, implementing, and continuously enhancing the facilities environment, systems, and equipment to optimize operational efficiency. Additionally, the position encompasses the management of maintenance and contract personnel to sustain facility operations. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for formulating facility strategies and providing guidance to executive leadership to align with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a professional development culture, providing leadership and management for the Facilities department while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies, manage departmental budgets, and oversee associated activities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and functional management teams to offer expertise during the optimization of facilities. Lead initiatives related to design, construction, renovations, and enhancements of facilities.
  • Establish a proactive maintenance strategy to ensure the reliability and security of manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments, including identifying new equipment needs and validating new systems.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop Facilities Technicians, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and departmental goals. Provide training and mentorship to technicians in the operation and maintenance of systems.
  • Ensure compliance with established business policies in all operational duties.
Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience with facilities equipment and systems.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience managing facilities teams.
  • 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing settings.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and oversee budgets.
  • Technical expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in quality system regulations and ISO 9000 environments.
  • Thorough understanding of building codes and federal/state regulations related to facilities management.
  • Ability to mentor and educate team members effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
Work Environment

The work environment encompasses an office, manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse setting, which may involve handling hazardous materials and chemicals. Flexibility in work hours is essential to meet project deadlines. Moderate physical activity is required, including occasional lifting of materials. The role may involve up to 50% of time in meetings and collaboration, with the remainder spent on analytical tasks.
