Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Klamath Basin Behavioral Health. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and guidance to individuals struggling with mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities- Meet with assigned peers in various settings to establish and maintain a positive, trusting relationship.
- Provide emotional support and a supportive presence in medical clinic settings.
- Attend group sessions for clients to support patient growth and recovery.
- Assist clients in identifying their personal recovery goals through the development of a Personal Recovery Plan.
- Help clients overcome barriers to maintaining independence and provide skill-building in areas such as budgeting, transportation, and healthcare appointments.
- Offer follow-up support to connect individuals with community resources and assist in maintaining stability and control over their lives.
- Must meet the Oregon Health Authority Certified Peer Support Specialist Requirements.
- Complete an Oregon Health Authority-approved, 40-hour PSST training to become an Oregon State Certified Peer Support Specialist.
- Be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Oregon driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must not be listed on the Medicaid provider exclusion list.
