Job Description

As a key member of the Welty Energy Leadership Team, the Director of Field Services will play a crucial role in fostering client relationships, team development, and process improvement. This position will be responsible for leading a team of Construction Managers, Construction Site Coordinators, and other field service professionals in overseeing and supporting the construction of substation, transmission, and distribution projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a Field Services Department strategy that aligns with Welty Energy's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of Construction Managers, Construction Site Coordinators, and other field service professionals in delivering exceptional results.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain a safety-focused culture within the team.
  • Consult on projects where expertise and guidance are needed, including constructability, site walk-downs, schedule development, and outage reviews.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, and Engineers to provide support and deliver excellence to our clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with client software, tools, and processes to ensure effective project execution.
  • Provide training and career development opportunities to team members.
  • Coordinate project coverage for the team due to vacation, PTO, or lack of availability.
  • Pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
  • Support the Executive Vice President with strategic initiatives and tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, with a focus on electric utility construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience directly managing people, with a preference for 7-10 years of direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience developing new business and leading teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of client systems, tools, and processes, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
