Role Summary

LIFELONG LEARNING ADMINISTRATION CO

This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM, for a duration of 10 months each academic year. The compensation package is competitive, starting at $60,000.00.

Impact of the Role:

The Mathematics Educator will design, organize, and execute a tailored instructional program within a supportive learning environment. This role is essential in guiding students to achieve their academic goals, complete diploma requirements, and prepare for post-secondary transitions. Collaboration with fellow instructional staff and school administration is a key component of this position, reporting directly to the Principal or designated representative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with relevant educational standards.
  • Provide effective instruction to diverse student groups, adapting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Maintain a safe and organized educational environment, managing student behavior to foster a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Regularly evaluate student progress, offering constructive feedback and maintaining accurate performance records.
  • Identify and address individual student needs, including those requiring special educational support, through differentiated instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to enhance teaching practices and improve student outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices and educational trends.
  • Manage educational resources effectively, including materials and technology.
  • Ensure compliance with state and district regulations, including attendance reporting and grading.
  • Encourage participation in extracurricular activities to support student engagement and development.
  • Adhere to established policies for reporting incidents and performing assigned administrative duties.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with Texas educational standards and graduation requirements.
  • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by at-risk students and strategies to support their academic success.
  • Ability to tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and community members.
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capacity to make independent decisions and maintain accurate records.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on providing excellent educational service.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field, with a focus on mathematics.
  • Valid Texas Teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement.
  • Experience in a long-term substitute role or participation in a state-approved teacher preparation program may be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and educational technology.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the role.
Physical Requirements:
  • High level of engagement with students and staff.
  • Proficient use of fingers for tasks such as typing and handling materials.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Adequate hearing to engage in conversations and receive information.
  • Normal visual acuity for document preparation and equipment operation.
