Job Summary

Fincantieri Marine Systems is seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engine Installation and Maintenance: Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines and related equipment.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot engine problems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Repair and Overhaul: Overhaul and repair diesel engines and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communication and Reporting: Produce written and electronic reports containing inspection data, measurements, failure information, and other job-related results.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an engine mechanic or comparable role is required.
  • Certifications: Must be a U.S. citizen or legally allowed to work in the United States.
  • Skills: Awareness of engine design and operation, marine applications and propulsion systems, mechanical maintenance and repairs, electrical/electronic systems maintenance and repair, and ability to perform engine/component tests and record measurements.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Work is performed in the shop and (primarily) on-board customer vessels.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces.
  • Travel: Ability to travel frequently (>50%) domestically and internationally.
