Summary:
The Licensed Nursing Professional is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive nursing care for residents while providing oversight and mentorship to clinical staff members.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN School of Nursing.
Licenses/Certification:
  • Valid LPN license in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.
Experience:
  • Preferred one year of nursing experience.
Job Functions:
  • Initiates and leads team discussions to develop individualized nursing care plans.
  • Assesses and documents residents' conditions and nursing requirements.
  • Promptly implements physicians' orders accurately.
  • Assigns nursing responsibilities to team members based on residents' needs and staff qualifications.
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.
  • Administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments for assigned residents, documenting as required by company and regulatory standards.
  • Participates in orientation and in-service training for staff.
  • Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of the state-defined Nursing Practice Act.
  • Ensures economical use of supplies and maintains equipment in a safe and clean manner.
  • Records and reports significant observations and reactions regarding residents.
  • Coordinates nursing care for residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
  • Interviews candidates and recommends hires; participates in counseling, disciplinary actions, and staff terminations as permitted by state practice regulations.
  • Supervises the nursing unit, including scheduling and directing nursing staff as allowed by state practice regulations.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

  • Strong communication skills with residents, their families, and all organizational levels.
  • Ability to respond decisively and swiftly in emergency situations.
