Job Summary:

The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist is a healthcare professional who uses high-technology equipment to assist with invasive procedures on patients. This role is responsible for preparing patients, assembling and operating hemodynamic equipment, and performing related radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of equipment and supply options, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare patients and assemble and operate hemodynamic equipment during interventional cardiac procedures.
2. Assist physicians in performing invasive procedures and perform related radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging.
3. Monitor and alert team members of life-threatening changes in patient status and respond with assistance during emergency procedures.
4. Assist with diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures as a scrub assistant.
5. Enter patient and study information into the radiology information system and document billing codes of procedures performed.
6. Process images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
7. Ensure that images are of diagnostic quality and assist biomed in evaluating digital equipment to maintain consistent image quality.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree in radiologic sciences or 24-month AMA-approved radiographic technologist program
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), RT (R)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS within 3 months of hire
Current State of Wisconsin license as radiographer

Work Environment:
Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
May be exposed to communicable diseases when working in a healthcare setting
Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electric shock
Occasional high noise level

Unit Summary:

ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah has a long history of providing stroke care for the communities in Northeast and Central Wisconsin. The hospital was one of the first certified Primary Stroke Centers in the state, and is now the fifth hospital in Wisconsin to be recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Schedule:
  • DAY Shift with start times varying from 6:30-8a
  • 8 hour shifts
  • Call Frequency: Every 4th weekday and every 4th weekend
