Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at ThedaCare Medical Center Waupaca. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality outcomes for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms for procedures by setting up sterile tables and checking equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with patient preparation and draping, passing sterile instruments and supplies, and assisting with surgical procedures.
  • Identify and transport specimens to pathology as directed.
  • Assist with medication management and labeling.
  • Clean and maintain operating rooms, instruments, and equipment according to regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a surgical technologist training program.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for Cath Lab.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases.
  • Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments.
  • Occasional high noise level.

Schedule:

This is an on-call only position, requiring availability to be within 45 minutes of the hospital during designated hours. The position is guaranteed 40 hours paid base hourly rate, regardless of call activity.
