Job Summary

The Service Technician is a critical role at Guardian Access Solutions, responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment for clients across all divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintenance of parking and access control equipment, gates, and overhead doors
  • Diagnostic and repair of computer and communication/network systems
  • Training end-users on correct use and maintenance of their systems
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest software, firmware, and hardware
  • Training and developing other team members
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical errors and problems
  • Preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Installation of new equipment
  • Recording service calls in the dispatching system, including time, service provided, and materials
  • Educating customers on preventive maintenance and safety measures
  • Operating company vehicles safely
  • Maintaining and developing good customer relationships
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Regular attendance at work and flexibility to adapt to changing schedules
  • Adhering to safety guidelines and policies
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 1-4 years of experience in the electrical/low voltage/access control industry, HVAC, or similar fields, including welding
  • Understanding of basic relay logic, electrical wiring, and circuit testing using a multimeter
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service PARC equipment
  • Programming access control events, schedules, and clearances
  • Experience with installing, operating, and maintaining commercial access control or CCTV systems or other low voltage installations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a willingness to undergo on-the-job training
  • Proficient time management skills, a strong work ethic, and a keen enthusiasm for continuous learning
  • Understanding of access control and CCTV systems design and functionality is preferred
  • Ability to learn software and software-driven hardware to make programming changes to recording devices and access control panels in the field via laptop computer, keypad, or local programmer
  • Background check and drug screen are required as a condition of employment
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, adapt to different work schedules, and perform physical work outdoors in various weather conditions for 8+ hours a day, 40+ hours a week
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

Position hours: 7AM-3:30PM
