TAP Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to enhance our operational capabilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where their expertise is crucial to our success.
The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of IT systems. This role includes managing IT system infrastructure and overseeing all related processes. The candidate will also provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues while effectively communicating the status of problems to management and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and configure UNIX and Windows operating systems, including the installation and loading of operating system software.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and configure network components, implementing enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
- Provide expert-level support for IT systems, including daily operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various devices.
- Conduct system capacity analysis and planning to optimize operations and resource utilization.
- Document technical processes and maintain clear communication with team members and clients.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field; 15 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- 10+ years of experience in IT systems support, including client/server/storage/network devices.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience in managing IT system configurations and operations.
- Hands-on experience with server management and remote patching.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Strong technical writing and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience with Windows Operating Systems.
- Additional CompTIA certifications.
- Knowledge of the Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Basic network administration experience.
Note: This position is contingent upon successful security processing and acceptance onto the program by the customer.
