Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Oncology Clinic
Educational and Certification Prerequisites:
- Valid RN License in Colorado or eligibility to obtain.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card (ONS/ONCC) required within 30 days of employment.
- Preferred: OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in oncology nursing is preferred.
- Experience in acute care environments, with specific knowledge of diverse patient populations and conditions.
- Familiarity with the ECOG (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group) Performance Status scale is advantageous.
Role Summary: We are in search of a dedicated and proficient Registered Nurse (RN) to enhance our Medical Oncology Clinic. The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in oncology nursing and exhibit expertise in delivering exceptional patient care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving treatment in the Medical Oncology Clinic.
- Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments following established protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond promptly as needed.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication management, and symptom management techniques.
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to formulate and execute personalized care plans.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care delivery.
- Remain informed about current evidence-based practices and emerging trends in oncology nursing.
