Classification: Non-Exempt, Part-Time, 10 Month Position
Role Purpose: The Afterschool Care Staff is responsible for overseeing, planning, and providing care for students enrolled in the Bengal Cub Club (BCC) for ages 2 to Grade 4 and the Homework Hangout for Grades 5-8. This role includes supervising upper school students (Grades 9-12) who may drop in for assistance after 3:45 PM.
This is a part-time, on-campus role with a flexible schedule, typically requiring staff to work up to five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Additional hours may be available during teacher workdays or summer sessions.

Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily activities of students in the afterschool program as directed by the Director of Auxiliary Operations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students while promoting positive behavior.
- Assist in managing student behavior with guidance from the Director of Auxiliary Operations.
- Collaborate with fellow afterschool staff to ensure smooth program operations.
- Adhere to school policies and the Employee Handbook.
- Engage with parents and teachers to enhance students' experiences in the afterschool program.
- Support students with homework and educational activities.
- Participate in required meetings and events.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of School.

This role involves supervising students in both indoor and outdoor settings. Staff are required to participate in safety drills, learn CPR, administer basic first aid, and address specific health-related needs of students. Occasional weekend, evening, or early morning work may be necessary.
Physical Requirements:Staff must be capable of assisting young children with personal care tasks and must be able to move swiftly between standing and sitting positions. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to adapt one's physical posture to engage with children is essential. Adequate supervision must be maintained indoors and outdoors, ensuring student safety during drills and emergencies. This position may involve exposure to high noise levels.
