Job Overview

Position Details:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance, and vendor-supplied patches in alignment with IT policies.
  • Deliver ongoing administrative support for Windows Servers, SharePoint Sites, and Active Directory management.
  • Design and develop SharePoint sites, pages, libraries, and workflows, assisting end-users with site development and upkeep.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily technical challenges, including code promotion and incident resolution.
  • Address search and indexing issues, site access challenges, and provide comprehensive analysis and recommendations for optimization.
  • Act as the primary contact for critical server outages, keeping management informed of status updates.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Installation Qualifications (IQs), and documentation following industry best practices.
  • Monitor systems to ensure optimal performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Define and execute server backup and recovery procedures, supporting business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Respond to Service Desk tickets in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and provide off-hours support through a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Collaborate with other IT functional areas to guarantee server availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Engage daily with supervisors, team members, customers, and users, delivering exceptional customer service and meticulous attention to detail.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Essential:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, with a minimum of 10 years in technical roles supporting server environments.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in server environments, particularly with Windows Operating Systems (2012, 2016, 2019) and VMware ESX/ESXi/View.
  • Expertise in Active Directory Management, including user and group administration, endpoint device management, and compliance assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of ASP.NET, SQL Server, application development, PowerShell (5.0 or higher), DNS, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and server monitoring tools.
  • Experience in designing and implementing Microsoft Windows Network Infrastructure and SharePoint administration.
  • Proficiency in understanding APIs, web services for JSON, and server hardware installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance (US Citizen or Permanent Resident with specific residency requirements).
  • Preferred:
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Batch, PERL, PowerShell, etc.) and understanding of programming technologies (.Net, COM, SQL).
  • Experience in large-scale hosted computing environments.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in scripting and programming technologies including Batch, PERL, PowerShell, .Net technologies, and SQL.
  • Direct experience managing a large-scale hosted computing environment.
