About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Physiatrist to join our dynamic team at Children's Mercy Hospital (MO). As a Pediatric Physiatrist, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of pediatric physical rehabilitation conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat pediatric patients with various physical rehabilitation conditions, including limb deficiency, neuromuscular disease, surgical neuromonitoring, EMG, brachial plexus injury, stroke, torticollis, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, spasticity/ITB, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, and wheelchair/seating needs.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, therapists, and social workers, to provide seamless patient care.
  • Participate in research and education initiatives to advance the field of pediatric rehabilitation medicine.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) with a focus on pediatric rehabilitation.
  • Excellent clinical skills and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in pediatric rehabilitation medicine.
