Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our team at Granite State Independent Living. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall direction for the daily operations of the organization, including budget development and financial oversight, supervision of staff, and implementation of the strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and stewardship throughout the organization.
  • Oversee the implementation of the organization's strategic plan in conjunction with the executive leadership team.
  • Lead a high-performing team by continued development, training, and retention.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key leaders and external partners to yield positive results against the organization's strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to identify strategic merger and acquisition opportunities and coordinate internal and external resources in the evaluation, prioritization, and due diligence of such opportunities.
  • Ensure the tracking, reporting, and evaluation of business development initiatives to senior leadership.
  • Implement the Development Plan and Advocacy Plan, ensuring yearly progress.
  • Identify and participate in developing potential new funding sources to support programs and services.
  • Identify growth and development opportunities for each owned department or service.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct annual performance reviews with all direct staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior management team to integrate cross-program activities and functions.
Requirements
  • At least seven years of progressive executive-level management experience in the non-profit human services sector.
  • Solid educational background, including an undergraduate degree and an MBA or similar advanced degree in human services or a related field.
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, engaging community partners, and partnering with the CEO and board of directors.
  • Proven analytical ability, solid financial acuity, and demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and budgets.
  • Knowledge of federal and state disability programs and services.
  • Personal experience with disability is desirable.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty safely and satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
