Job Overview

The Assistant Manager is a key leadership position within our stores, responsible for leading a team of associates and driving business results. As a Store Leadership Position, you will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering a culture of excellence, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with Integrity: Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and care for all associates, leading by example and setting the standard for a high-performing culture.
  • Develop and Engage Associates: Support all aspects of talent management, including recruiting, hiring, training, development, performance management, recognition, retention, and succession planning.
  • Drive Business Results: Lead activities required to achieve all store goals, including financial objectives, client service, talent management, operational controls, asset protection, and safety, and merchandise presentation.
  • Operate as Manager on Duty: Take on the responsibilities of the Manager on Duty in the absence of another Manager, ensuring seamless store operations and customer service.
  • Embody Company Leadership Principles: Foster a culture that values diversity, transparency, and continuous learning, and promotes a test and learn culture.
  • Manage Controllable Expenses: Prioritize and control workload through successful planning and delegation, and manage controllable expenses to drive business results.
  • Comply with Company Policies: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and applicable laws at all times.
Requirements
  • Strong Communication and Supervisory Skills: Possess strong communication, supervisory, and customer service skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Specialty Retail Experience: Have 6 months to 1 year of specialty retail experience, preferably in a selling environment.
  • Management Experience: Prior management experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Technology Proficiency: Be technology proficient and have strong business acumen.
  • Flexible Schedule: Be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English; other languages are desirable.
Physical Demands
  • Constant Movement: Constantly move throughout the store to assist customers, retrieve merchandise, complete floor sets, unpack and replenish stock, and complete other tasks.
  • Frequent Lifting: Frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds in all directions, and occasionally lift and move objects weighing as much as 50 pounds in all directions with assistance.
  • Standing and Walking: Stand and walk for long periods of time, and occasionally climb an 8-foot ladder to retrieve merchandise.
