About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Art & Jake's Sports Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the overall operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality, service, and safety are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and leadership to kitchen staff, ensuring the execution of all employee duties and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as state and local food handling requirements.
- Assist in the implementation and management of kitchen and restaurant policies and procedures, ensuring that all staff are aware of and adhere to them.
- Complete the duties of a line cook when needed and be capable of performing the duties of all kitchen positions.
- Ensure that products are stored at the correct temperatures and that recipe books are up to date with current menu items, portions, and ingredients.
- Monitor labor costs to attain budgeted goals within restaurant policies and procedures.
- Oversee and approve training and development of kitchen staff, including conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations.
- Participate in the completion of all back-of-house employee 30-day and annual reviews.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Strong people management and leadership skills, with the ability to foster teamwork and provide feedback.
- Ability to plan and multi-task, with a high energy level and a self-motivated approach.
- Conflict resolution and verbal communication skills.
