Position Overview:
This role serves as the primary legal consultant and point of contact for the Commander and senior leadership of the Joint Munitions Command (JMC), addressing matters that impact mission execution, operational efficiency, production, and external relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel and oversight in areas such as Procurement, Contract Litigation, Procurement Fraud, and Fiscal Law.
- Operate autonomously, utilizing initiative and expertise, in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Regularly brief senior officials at the General Officer and SES levels on legal matters pertaining to the ammunition sector, including operations, acquisitions, and fiscal regulations.

Support and Supervision:
- Offer guidance and technical oversight to installation attorneys within JMC, ensuring effective handling of legal matters.
- Deliver legal advice on the formation, negotiation, management, and conclusion of contracts, particularly those involving complex legal challenges.

Legal Interpretation and Monitoring:
- Advise on the interpretation of relevant laws, including the Competition in Contracting Act and the Procurement Integrity Act, ensuring compliance in procurement processes.
- Oversee and coordinate responses to significant cases of fraud or corruption, collaborating with the Procurement Fraud Advisor.

Litigation Defense:
- Represent the Army's interests in protests, contract disputes, and other legal proceedings, working alongside AMC, Department of the Army, and Department of Justice attorneys.

Qualifications:
- Applicants must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an ABA-accredited institution.
- Active membership in a state bar, allowing representation of the Federal Government in legal matters.
- A minimum of three years of professional legal experience post-bar admission, relevant to the responsibilities of this position.

Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must be eligible for a Secret security clearance and may be required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon employment.
