Key Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, the Interventional Radiology Specialist performs a variety of interventional procedures, including standard arterial and venous interventions, contrast imaging, and complex procedures such as stenting and cerebral coilings.

Primary Duties
  • Conduct a diverse range of imaging procedures, both scheduled and on-call.
  • Most responsibilities will be centered in the Interventional Radiology Department, with potential duties in related areas such as the Operating Room and Vascular Lab.
  • Assist in the training and evaluation of Radiology students as needed.
  • Engage effectively with various departments, medical staff, patients, and their families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to established guidelines and protocols set by the department and regulatory bodies.
  • Comply with safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Completion of a two-year or four-year degree in Radiologic Technology, followed by specialized training in interventional procedures.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligibility for certification, with completion required within one year of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting focusing on arterial and venous interventional radiology.
  • Ability to accurately complete requisitions for interventional procedures.
  • Familiarity with Radiology information systems for accessing prior examination reports.
  • Proficiency in operating interventional equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
  • Capability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations while performing necessary duties.
