Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Continuous Improvement to spearhead our client's LEAN engineering division, focusing on the implementation and management of LEAN methodologies throughout the organization. This role is pivotal in crafting and executing Kaizen Roadmaps, nurturing a culture dedicated to continuous improvement, and overseeing cost reduction initiatives aimed at meeting annual savings objectives. The Director will work closely with plant leadership to ensure the effective application of LEAN practices, conduct annual LEAN evaluations, and support enterprise safety and strategic initiatives. Additionally, this position includes overseeing training programs in LEAN techniques and leadership development. The role also encompasses various managerial responsibilities, including mentoring, coaching, and budget management.
Work Environment
This position requires onsite presence in a specified region.
Compensation Package
The compensation includes a competitive base salary, performance bonuses, a 401K plan, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and additional award-winning benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a LEAN engineering team to implement and monitor LEAN methodologies across the organization, utilizing tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 6S, and Lean Daily Management aligned with corporate objectives.
- Develop and manage the execution of Kaizen Roadmaps for all facilities in collaboration with plant leadership, tracking results and ensuring sustainability.
- Partner with operations leadership to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and oversee staff training in LEAN methodologies.
- Facilitate leadership training and development programs for team enhancement.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives to achieve annual operational savings goals.
- Conduct annual LEAN assessments at facilities and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Perform a comprehensive range of managerial duties, including hiring, mentoring, and fostering employee development; organizing, allocating, and supervising tasks; managing performance; and overseeing departmental budgets.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a business-related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- A minimum of ten years of experience in multisite manufacturing, with at least five years dedicated to LEAN implementation.
- LEAN certification (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt) is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in LEAN Manufacturing and Engineering principles.
- Advanced knowledge of LEAN Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, and related methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including project management and change management.
- Proficient in data analysis and driving actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
