Job Overview

TEKsystems is seeking skilled professionals to support a variety of high-profile projects in the outside plant and enterprise commercial sectors. Our team is expanding, and we require dedicated individuals to assist in delivering exceptional service in the OSP domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct troubleshooting and installation of low voltage and structured cabling systems.
  • Prepare and splice fiber optic cables, identifying and repairing issues as necessary.
  • Utilize fiber connector preparation and installation techniques, as well as fiber testing equipment, to ensure quality service.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install cable pathways, including cable trays, in various environments.
  • Install, splice, terminate, and test both vertical backbone and horizontal fiber optic and copper cable systems.
  • Perform fusion splicing, pigtail splicing, and fiber connector installations.
  • Install cables in aerial, underground, and inside plant settings with a comprehensive understanding of the processes involved.
  • Execute ring/hot cuts and install fiber closures, terminations, connectors, patch panels, and related materials.
  • Bond and ground fiber cables according to client specifications.
  • Operate and evaluate information from Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), ensuring all specifications are met.
  • Utilize Corning Fusion Splicers, including M-90, X-77, I-LID, and Opti-Splice LID Fusion Splicers.

Daily Operations:

The typical workday begins with a team meeting to discuss project scopes and objectives. Technicians will then travel to job sites in company vehicles, often working 5-10 hours of overtime based on project demands.
