PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The role of the process engineer involves identifying and establishing operational procedures to manufacture products while developing methodologies that meet requirements for personnel, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This position is also tasked with diagnosing production issues and implementing corrective measures. Additionally, the process engineer is responsible for researching equipment purchases or enhancements to current machinery.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Assess, implement, and oversee processes and operational systems for the production of client products.
Generate, modify, and maintain essential documentation, including process maps, value stream maps, routings, BOMs, process FMEAs, work instructions, and control plans.
Conduct equipment calibration and monitor maintenance schedules.
Collaborate with clients to innovate new designs and establish production processes for these new product concepts.
Evaluate and enhance safety, efficiency, and cost performance of manufacturing processes through observations, measurements, and data analysis from technical and operational staff.
Proficient use of 3D SolidWorks software for designing basic fixtures and gauges is required; candidates without SolidWorks experience should be willing to learn.
Take responsibility for safety and environmental considerations as well as the ongoing performance of processes.
A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a process engineer or in a related field is required.
Maintain ERP routings for all part numbers within the designated group.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Technical proficiency.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication abilities.
Initiative and a strong sense of urgency.
Familiarity with GD&T tolerancing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, Word, and Excel.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A bachelor’s degree with substantial experience in manufacturing or a degree in an engineering discipline.
