Position Title: Commercial Portfolio Manager
Banesco USA is looking for a Commercial Portfolio Manager to join our Portfolio Management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and evaluate existing lending relationships within the assigned portfolio, ensuring timely completion of annual, semi-annual, or quarterly reviews. Prepare monthly Watch List comments and quarterly Adversely Classified Reports as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive oversight of ongoing monitoring requirements and client deliverables, ensuring compliance with all loan agreement terms, including (i) Financial Reporting and Covenant Tracking, (ii) Covenant Compliance, (iii) Collateral Monitoring, and (iv) necessary third-party reports and due diligence. Analyze reports such as Financial Statements and Appraisals to confirm compliance.
- Track tickler requirements and post-closing items, reviewing and resolving financial and documentation exceptions in collaboration with Lenders and Lending Associates.
- Assess relevant information to determine risk ratings and evaluate the acceptability of prospects and existing credits.
- Conduct thorough portfolio management to identify early warning signs of credit deterioration, recommending risk rating adjustments as needed. Collaborate with senior management to escalate issues and develop action plans.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers to structure and underwrite new and existing loan relationships, determining monitoring needs during the underwriting process.
- Prepare all necessary financial analyses and Executive Summaries, ensuring timely uploads for credit underwriting and approval.
- Review and synthesize all third-party reports, incorporating essential information into the Executive Summary.
- Act as a liaison between clients and various bank departments to facilitate efficient processing of renewals and modifications.
- Coordinate with Loan Operations to ensure all required insurance policies are current and adequately cover the necessary assets.
- Document borrower interactions with quarterly call memorandums and annual inspections of real estate loans.
- Monitor past due payments and loan maturities closely to prevent delinquencies exceeding 30 days.
- Ensure timely dispatch of financial information requests and renewal letters to borrowers.
- Stay informed on industry trends and analyze specific areas to identify potential risks within the loan portfolio.
- Complete the annual training program as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years in Credit Underwriting or Portfolio Management.
- Experience with Commercial & Industrial lending is essential.
- Advanced understanding of bank policies, credit policy, and compliance regulations.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Strong customer service orientation to ensure satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and communicate issues effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Team-oriented approach to ensure compliance with departmental procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant technologies.
- Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with bank standards.
