Job Overview

Laansu is seeking a talented Junior Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of software products used by the Department of Transportation and the public at large. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and supporting software solutions that help ensure the safety of drivers and passengers on public roadways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze requirements and provide estimated development timelines.
  • Follow agile sprint-based development schedule and unit test modules prior to handing them off to the Test Team.
  • Peer-review the work of colleagues and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Document design decisions and technical details.
  • Maintain source code version control in Azure DevOps.
  • Implement, document, and maintain robust software solutions that will be in service over multiple years.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (CS) or related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • 0-3 years of work experience in software development or related field.
  • 1+ years of writing object-oriented code in C#, C++, Java or other programming languages.
  • 2+ years of designing objects in relational databases (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, and queries).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies.
  • Hands-on experience creating rich web application user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with at least one source code version control tool like Azure DevOps.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with at least one Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tool like Entity Framework.
  • Hands-on experience with web UI frameworks like MVC, Angular, and Bootstrap.
  • Experience with development in Azure Cloud using Azure Data Lake Services, Data Factory, Synapse analytics, SQL Managed Instance, etc.
  • Familiarity with desktop UI frameworks like Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) preferred.
  • Experience building .net Framework and ASP.NET Core web applications or APIs.
  • Familiarity with json, XML, and XSLT.
