Position Summary

As an Ink Production Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our flexographic press operators within the print production sector. Your primary responsibilities will include the sourcing, formulation, and upkeep of all inks, coatings, and varnishes utilized in our operations. Additional tasks will involve labeling containers and ensuring that an adequate supply of necessary consumables is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and certify inks for all production jobs.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures, using designated tools and software to guarantee ink quality.
  • Pre-stage inks and monitor ink levels at each press according to the production schedule.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies for all necessary consumables, including specialized inks.
  • Keep the ink area organized and clean, including the maintenance of the GSE Color Match Dispenser.
  • Develop and maintain the GCMS library for digital color standards.
  • Handle ink returns and ensure they meet standards before restocking.
  • Assist production operators in resolving ink-related challenges during the printing process.
  • Collaborate with the Pre-Press department on new orders or specialized color requirements.
  • Comply with all company procedures and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma (GED) required; college coursework is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a printing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and proactively manage ink requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented approach.
  • Familiarity with GSE Color Match equipment and related software is advantageous.
  • Understanding of ink properties and related consumables is beneficial.
Supervisory Role:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Training:
  • Willingness to participate in mandatory training sessions related to the position.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Engage in lifting, sitting, standing, crouching, and repetitive tasks.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with random drug testing.
Work Environment:
  • Regular exposure to dust and noise typical of a production setting.
  • Warehouse conditions may vary with external temperatures.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Must wear and maintain appropriate PPE for safe job performance, including safety glasses, gloves, and smocks.
