Job Title: Design Lead, Architectural Services

Job Summary:

The Design Lead is a key member of the Design Team and works alongside a group of individuals to provide architectural services for multi-site construction projects. The Design Lead is accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for our clients and supporting other team members in achieving team goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare complete, accurate, and code-compliant construction documents.
  • Provide technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
  • Apply client's program requirements and design criteria to existing buildings and structures.
  • Determine the appropriate building components and their design application.
  • Maintain project schedules, deadlines, and commitments for all projects.
  • Coordinate work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
  • Possess a working knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Conduct project due diligence with municipalities to determine local zoning and building code requirements.
  • Resolve plan review comments from code officials.
  • Project liaison to code officials, outside consultants, suppliers, and contractors regarding questions to the construction documents.
  • Adhere to CAD standards and follow assigned drafting protocol across all projects.
  • Work with supervisor and peers to pursue professional development.
  • Supervise and mentor licensure candidates in the NCARB Architectural Experience Program (AXP) Program.
  • Engage in personal growth using Sevan's I-PDCA process.
  • Complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
  • Work independently on simple to moderately difficult projects.
  • Prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles, practices, and advanced techniques.
  • Expertise in drawings, specifications, and building materials.
  • Ability to complete moderately difficult architectural assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to execute and coordinate multiple projects at a time.
  • Experience in multi-site projects preferred.
