Job Overview

The Retail Operations Leader is a dynamic and self-driven professional, accountable for all sales and operational activities within a premier retail environment. This role is pivotal in enhancing store profitability by achieving or surpassing sales objectives while managing operational costs effectively. The leader serves as a role model and brand representative, actively embodying the core values of James Avery and inspiring team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit excellent time management and problem-solving capabilities, utilizing sound judgment to make independent decisions.
  • Foster a motivating atmosphere that enhances team morale and collaboration.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and continuous development of the retail team, ensuring compliance with all HR policies and procedures.
  • Engage in collaboration and share best practices with peers to enhance district performance.
  • Ensure adherence to store policies and procedures while providing constructive feedback for system and process improvements.
  • Establish a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, analyzing team performance, and providing timely feedback, including addressing underperformance proactively.
  • Participate in regular leadership meetings to strategize and align on store objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop the retail team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to support store operations.
  • Design and implement plans to effectively lead and drive results during special events and promotions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for associates, both in-store and through online platforms.
  • Keep management informed of product, customer, and personnel matters.
  • Oversee inventory management processes, including cycle counts, adjustments, and the shipping and receiving of merchandise, while promptly addressing any inventory discrepancies.
  • Actively manage the sales floor, serving as a leader on duty and ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered consistently.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships across departments to establish trust and credibility.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members in line with established schedules and compensation guidelines, providing ongoing coaching and addressing performance issues swiftly.
  • Approve scheduling changes and review timesheets to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Execute store opening and closing responsibilities, including financial processes and delegation of tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field and three years of experience in retail management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and nurturing customer relationships.
  • A proven track record of executing consistently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a positive demeanor under pressure.
