Job Summary:

The California State University is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead technical projects and manage operational systems. As a key member of our team, you will work independently to manage project activities, create project schedules, track tasks and timelines, and communicate deliverables and project status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical projects from initiation to closure, ensuring successful execution and transition to operational support.
  • Work with cross-functional project teams to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop project scope, and ensure project deliverables meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including business and systems process maps, technical systems documentation, and other related documentation.
  • Perform analytical assessments of processes and provide input on process improvements.
  • Provide consultative support to students, staff, and faculty to enhance the use and access of technology and information systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience managing technical projects.
  • Project Management Institute PMP Certification, current and in good standing.
  • Experience working with technical users and communicating in a technological environment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams, manage technical projects at all levels, and learn, interpret, and problem-solve independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full life cycle development, systems implementation experience, and Business Analyst experience.
  • Understanding of technologies such as network topology, server infrastructure, and application development.
  • Understanding of common IT terminologies and systems engineering concepts.
