Job Title: Maintenance III

Join Metro Parks Tacoma as a Maintenance III and contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, including the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside experienced professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities and provide exceptional service to our visitors.

Job Summary

The Maintenance III position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled trade work, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing, to maintain and repair facilities and equipment. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled trade work, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing, to maintain and repair facilities and equipment.
  • Assist with special events and activities, including Zoolights and other seasonal events.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Valid Washington driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • 2 years of journey-level carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work experience, or 6 years of related maintenance experience.
Work Environment

This position requires working in an indoor and outdoor environment, with exposure to adverse weather conditions. You will also be required to drive a vehicle to conduct work and may be exposed to noise from equipment operation.
