Project Engineer - Water and Wastewater

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing quality planning, design, and technical assistance to Discipline Manager and other team members in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering analyses and evaluations in support of the planning and design of civil works projects, including water distribution system and sanitary sewer collection system hydraulic modeling, pump station modeling and analysis, and analysis and evaluation of treatment options for potable water and wastewater plants.
  • Conduct analysis and design of water distribution systems, water supply and treatment components, sanitary sewer systems and components, transmission, treatment, and disposal systems, and POTWs.
  • Assess and evaluate existing system conditions and develop recommended remedial measures.
  • Maintain and document written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project.
  • Conduct project status review with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitors timeliness of project completion.
  • Attend meetings on project management.
  • Assist Project Managers with administrative duties concerning completion of assigned projects, including review of schedules, scopes, and budgets.
  • Assist Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
  • Prepare project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and tools.
  • Assist in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
  • Assist Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
  • Maintain responsibility for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.
  • Maintain responsibility for adherence to applicable codes.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering staff.
